The 20 Rural Municipalities in the North Saskatchewan River watershed in Alberta contribute in many different ways to the Integrated Watershed Managment Planning process.
UPSTREAM: Clearwater County, Brazeau County,Yellowhead County, County of Wetaskiwin.
CENTRAL: Leduc County, Parkland County, Lac Ste. Anne County, Westlock County, Sturgeon County, Strathcona County, Camrose County.
DOWNSTREAM: County of Thorhild, Beaver County, Lamont County, Smoky Lake County, County of Minburn, County of Two Hills, County of St. Paul, County of Vermilion River, M. D. of Bonnyville.
Most of the Urban Municipalities in the watershed recieve direct benefit from and have direct impact on the North Saskatchewan River mainstream. These municipalities, in many different ways, provide foundational support to the operation and direction of the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA).
