June 3, 2010: Second Round Downstream Forum

Your Watershed, Your Voice!

On June 3, 2010, we held our second Downstream Watershed Management Forum in Elk Point. It was well attended, and was followed by an Open House in the evening. We had quite a good showing at the Open House, even with the rainy weather.

 
Event details:
Location: Elk Point Pioneers Circle Hall, Elk Point
Time: Day meeting began at 9:00 a.m. Open House from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
 
Goals for the day:                  
  • Review the NSWA approach to stakeholder engagement to develop the IWMP
  • Review the results of the IWMP Engagement Forum, March 10, 2010 – Vermilion 
  • Review watershed issues raised during the IWMP Engagement Forum, March 10, 2010 – Vermilion
  • Continue dialogue with stakeholders about local issues in the downstream subregion of the NSR watershed.
  • Present NSWA recommendations for Water Quality Objectives (WQOs) for the Mainstem of the NSR.
  • Discuss  draft IWMP recommendations for IWMP Goal #1
