Staff
The North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA) is a non-profit society whose purpose is to protect and improve water quality and ecosystem functioning in the North Saskatchewan Watershed within Alberta. NSWA staff consists of an Executive Director, an IWMP Coordinator, a Communications Manager, a Basin Planner, a Basin Planning Technician, and a Technical Program Coordinator.

David Trew, David has in his career focused primarily on water quality management and policy development as a scientist, manager and senior manager. He has worked with all manner of stakeholders in the water management area, from scientific research communities and early river basin councils, through to cross-ministry and inter-governmental committees. David is well positioned to guide the organization as it fulfills its potential as the Watershed Planning and Advisory Council for the North Saskatchewan Watershed. |

Billie Milholland Billie started with NSWA in the spring of 2001, and has been interested in the Integrated Watershed Management Planning process from the beginning. Her involvement with economic development in rural communities, experience with the public participation process and use of strategic communication techniques are some of the resources she calls on. Personal interests: microbial diversity and function in soil, watershed history, and circumboreal use of medicinal plants. Hobbies: Photography, Urban Farming, Writing Fiction. Recent publications completed for NSWA: the North Saskatchewan River Guide 2002, the Background Study of the North Saskatchewan River 2005, and the Heritage River Nomination Document 2006. |

Gord Thompson Gord joined the NSWA after a 35-year career in wastewater engineering and management with the City of Edmonton and the Alberta Capital Region Wastewater Commission. He brings a strong interest in the impacts of growth and development on the environment. |

Graham Watt Graham started working with the NSWA in Fall 2007 after studying landscape change in the Canadian Rockies at the University of Victoria. He has training and experience in geography, ecosystem-based management and restoration ecology, and is interested in the interaction between people and ecosystems at multiple scales. He offers the NSWA a passion for the intricacies of watershed planning. |

Tom Cottrell IWMP Coordinator, (780) 496-6962 With degrees in Zoology (B.Sc., Alberta) and Regional Planning and Resource Development (MA, Waterloo), Mr. Cottrell has worked over 30 years in wildlife biology, environmental research, land-use planning, resource policy, economic policy and in Alberta International and Intergovernmental Relations. He started June 1, 2008 with the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance. |

Jayme Nelson Jayme has a strong interest in the people side of the NSWA; she studied human dimensions of environmental management at the University of Alberta. Through her studies, she has gained a passion for education and outreach, geographic information systems, and integrated management planning. Her ten years of experience with 4-H has kept her firmly grounded in her agricultural roots, while her immersion in the vibrant Strathcona community has created in her a passion for urban interaction. Part of the founding group for Active Citizens Television, Jayme has valuable experience in the specific needs of Albertans to discover and pursue sustainable living practices and promote ecological consciousness.
