North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA)
Mission: To protect and improve water quality, water quantity (instream flow) and the health of our watershed by: seeking, developing and sharing knowledge; facilitating partnerships and collaborative planning; and working in an adaptive management process.
To educate and increase the public’s understanding of watershed protection and its importance by developing and providing programs on the improvement of water quality, water quantity, and the health of the North Saskatchewan Watershed
The NSWA became a registered society in 2000 with support from Alberta Environment and Parks, EPCOR, Trout Unlimited Canada, Alberta Beef Producers, and Land Stewardship Centre of Canada and with funding from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, TransAlta, the City of Edmonton Drainage Services and others.
The NSWA became a registered Charity in 2016.
Your DONATION helps fund watershed management projects in the North Saskatchewan River watershed in Alberta.
NSWA is grateful for annual funding from Alberta Environment and Parks and EPCOR, which contribute to operating costs and subwatershed work. Municipalities in the North Saskatchewan River watershed in Alberta also contribute funding on a per capita basis.
